The Bell 412EP is a four bladed, Category A/B Medium, twin turbine powered helicopter with 15 places.
The safest and most reliable helicopter in its class, the 412EP is powered by Pratt & Whitney's PT6T-3DE Twin Pac Powerplant. With the experience of over 10 million flight hours, in more than 2,000 helicopters the PT6 Twin-Pac has proven to have the lowest in-flight shutdown rate of any turboshaft engine. The 412EP is also certified for single-pilot IFR with autopilot to reduce work load and fatigue. The four-blade rotor helps assure a smooth, fast and comfortable ride, a very important benefit when a unit is on extended search and rescue missions.
The 412EP have a range of 745km. For missions requiring large manpower assets, the 15 place 412EP has a cabin that will transport a fully equipped 12 man SWAT team or over one ton of cargo. The flat floors make for sure-footing and stability - an added benefit for missions requiring rapid offloading of personnel and equipment, or rappelling.
